• The Coin -The Indian Head Penny was minted from 1859 to 1909. The Indian Head Penny was designed by James B. Longacre and features a left facing Miss Liberty with headdress. The words United States of America surround Liberty and mint year is also on the obverse. The reverse displays the oak wreath and shield with the words One Cent.
